Celebrating the life of
Ashlee Kraft
May 20, 1988 - June 10, 2007
ASHLEE WRIGHT KRAFT
Ashlee Wright Kraft, 19 of Savannah, passed away late Saturday. A Savannah native, Ashlee was a 2006 honor graduate of Savannah Christian Preparatory School where she excelled in both academics and athletics. She played volleyball and was a four year letter winner in soccer, serving as the team’s goalkeeper. She completed her freshman year at Valdosta State University receiving Dean’s List honors spring semester. She was an active member of Isle of Hope United Methodist Church and was involved with the Wesley Foundation and Baptist Campus Ministries in Valdosta. She was a board member and active participant of the South Georgia Coastal Chrysalis community.
While she possessed a genuine and gentle spirit, Ashlee had a fierce competitive streak on the soccer field and a zest for life that was only exceeded by her love for the Lord. Her efforts to share the Word of God have touched many lives in the short time she was with us and will continue to bless the lives of many others in the years to come.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Harold W. Kraft, Jr. She is survived by her father and mother Harold W. Hal and Kim Kraft, her brother Kyle Kraft and sister Emily Kraft, her maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Blackston, and her maternal great grandmother Mrs. C.A. “Neemaw” Wallace, all of Savannah. She was the niece of Kevin and Angela Blackston, Kelly and Robert Cail all of Savannah, John and Toni Kraft, Mary Kraft and Dan Triandiflou, all of Atlanta. She is also survived by her cousins Gage and Caroline Blackston, Clint Cail, and Sarah and Millie Kraft.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, June 13th from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Home, Hodgson Chapel. The funeral will be held Thursday, June 14th at 2:00 P.M. at Isle of Hope United Methodist Church, graveside services to follow at Greenwich Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Isle of Hope United Methodist Church fellowship hall following the graveside service.

I was traveling out West when I received the news about Ashlee. My heart is broken for you, and for this world. She had so much to offer and such a bright future. As much as we needed her here the LORD needed her more in Heaven. I know she is serving Him there today as she served Him here while she was still with us. She was one of the brightest most conscientious students I have ever taught. She brightened my day every day she was in my class. Please know that I am praying for your family. I feel so blessed to have known Ashlee.

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Kraft and family, I had the blessing of working with Ashlee on several Chrysalis Flights. From the moment I met her, I knew she was a special young lady with a passion for Christ. She was an awesome servant and never seemed to want to be in the forefront but rather quietly serve. She will always be loved by those of us who knew her and served with her. I will miss seeing her smiling face and her sneaking up in a crowd to give me a hug. I will always remember her as a precious, tender hearted, highly competitive, lovable, hard working, joyful, young lady who made an impact on those who were blessed to know her. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. May God give you comfort and strength. Chip Strickland Pastor, Guyton United Methodist

Mr and Mrs Kraft and family, I went to school with Ashlee at VSU and we both shared some amazing times at the BCM on campus. I am from Savannah and played soccer with Ashlee, so coming to Valdosta and seeing a familiar face was definately a gift from God, especially when I did not know anyone at the time. Little did I know how much better I would come to know Ashlee and love her as a sister in Christ. She has been an amazing friend in the time that I have gotten to know her better, and although we are sad, I know that she is dancing with her Jesus in Heaven. I pray that God would give your family comfort through this difficult time. I love you all. Randi Taylor

Mr. and Mrs. Kraft, Ashlee was very dear to my heart. We developed a special bond at her first volleyball camp before 6th grade. That friendship grew over several years and extended to my daughter, Bess. Ashlee was a special person with a tremendous heart. My heart goes out to you and your family at this time. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
